    • Description of the book

      bilArabi is an innovative Arabic learning program, designed to help students learn and reconnect with the Arabic language in a fun and engaging way. It was developed by Dr. Hanada Taha, the Endowed Chair Professor of Arabic language at Zayed University, in coordination with our Consultancy and Professional Development Support Team. BilArabi is a program based on modern learning standards, enriched with children’s literature and a catalyst for higher thinking skills. It is a qualitative leap in the teaching of Arabic language and learning. BilArabi is a program that offers more than just language learning. It aims to develop a passion for Arabic history and culture and inspire trust in a bright future for the language.
      BilArabi was developed to make learning Arabic fun, purposeful, effective, and scalable to all levels The curriculum presents the Arabic language in a modern, contemporary way and applies best practice pedagogy harnessed from latest findings in the fields of education, language learning, linguistics and educational psychology

      Dr Hanada Taha Thomure is the Endowed Chair Professor of Arabic Language at Zayed University and prior to this was associate and acting Dean at the Bahrain Teachers College. Dr. Hanada has been an adviser to many regional and international organizations including USAID, World Bank, Scholastic, Queen Rania Foundation, and Arab Thought Foundation. She has a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans, Master’s degree in educational psychology, a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology and a diploma in elementary school education from the American University of Beirut. Dr Hanada adapted the Ohio State language arts standards for native learners and rendered them into Arabic. Those standards are currently being used by thousands of students in the region and they constitute the heart of bilArabi program. She used the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) standards for designing the non-native bilArabi curriculum. The ACTFL standards are the golden standard for teaching Arabic as a world language. They have been rendered for the first time by the bilArabi program into I can statements that are designed and divided per grade level
